Home for the holidays

Happy holidays, lovely knitters!

For me at least, 2015 has continued its break-neck speed lately, plowing through December before I could blink. The rush was totally worth it, though – we’ve finished the redesign of this site!

I hope you’ll click through and meander around, if you’re reading this through a news reader – I’m really pleased with the new look and the new organization.

Among the many changes, I’ve made a single place for all of my tutorials to live, and am moving them into the new format slowly but surely.

I’ve started by updating a few of my most popular tutorials. I’m really excited about the sleeve cap tutorial in particular:

I’ve been wanting to update it, and so I took this opportunity to expand it a bit, and take new pictures for clarity. Click here (or on the picture) to check it out.

I hope you enjoy it, and the rest of the new site! If you have any suggestions for tutorials you’d like to see, or videos you’d like me to add, let me know in the comments or on our Facebook page. I’d love to hear them!

And now, here I am – the longest night past, clinging to my lights for just a bit longer,

Lights

and looking at a glorious string of knitting and spending time with my family over the next week and a half.

That’s Indigodragonfly Chameleon Sock in “the new black”, Berroco Ultra Alpaca in “potting soil mix”, and Jill Draper Makes Stuff Rockwell in “dark roast”. I have Big Plans for all of them. (Rationally, I know it’s crazy to think that there’s even the slightest chance I could knit 3 sweaters before the year ends – but it’s so glorious to think about drowning myself in some wool that I’m telling my rational mind to shove it for a bit.)

And on that note, Lauren and I will be taking the rest of this week, and next, to spend some much-needed time with our families. We will be monitoring Ravelry and the [email protected] inbox occasionally, but our response time will be slower than usual until after the new year. We appreciate your patience as we close out the year!

I’ll see you again here before the end of the year for sure, and my knitting progress will almost certainly show up on Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter. Until then, happy holidays and happy knitting!

  1. Excellent pictures for the sleeve cap tutorial! Makes me want a sweater that is ready to seam. Love the re-designed site, too.
