Dispatches from the field

Hello from Tacoma!

I’m here for the next few days teaching at the Madrona Fiber Arts winter retreat, and I’m so pleased to spend some time talking sweaters and admiring yarn. The retreat is in a lovely place, the Hotel Murano, and just a quick walk from the hotel are some outdoor Chihuly installations:

I’ll be back home next week, and look forward to diving back into all things CustomFit and blog.

Knitting-wise, things continue to be relatively slow. After some blazing fast progress in the #wintersweaterkal with Copper Mountain and a cowl for Beth that I’ll release soon…

…things have come to a grinding halt as I tackle two A-line sweaters, one fingering weight and one allover lace. Here’s a picture from last week, I feel like my knitting looks much the same now:

How about you? How is your knitting coming along?

  1. Working on Foyle’s cardigan!

  2. I had a fantastic time at our Seattle Knitters Guild meeting last night!
Your presentation was fabulous and I learned so much.
2016 may just be the year that I make a sweater!

  3. Beautiful picture of the Chihuly glass. I am surprised but happy to see that you have had the time to take in these wonderful sites and also blog., because I know your Madrona schedule is full. I just returned from 2 days at Madrona – no classes this year – just the market and then sitting and knitting and spending time with so many friends and all the other knitters. It was so nice to see your smiling face around the Murano.
