Pattern Notes:

This homage to the February Lady Sweater is designed to look fantastic on the bustier, curvier gals among us. The 3/4-length sleeves look great on many figures and the scoop neck is flattering on a variety of body types. As written, there are about 3.5 inches of waist shaping, worked into the lace pattern.

If you are not interested in any waist shaping, please feel free to simply eliminate those portions of the pattern. If you want just an inch or two of shaping, I’d recommend eliminating the shaping as written and going down a needle size or two instead. I recommend knitting the sweater with between 2 inches of negative ease and one inch of positive ease at the bust, depending on your measurements and frame. The smaller you are, the more negative ease you want, in my opinion–it should not be puffy or loose in the bust area.

This sweater works dressed up for work or down for play and looks gorgeous in fancy, hand-painted yarns. It is worked in the round from the bottom up to the scoop neck shaping, and then flat. The set-in sleeves are worked flat as well. Waist shaping occurs on the sides, with one full lace repeat decreased for the waist on each side. Please download the latest version of the pattern before knitting!
